Questions people ask before their first eSIM
Does my phone support eSIM?
Most phones from 2018 on do: iPhone XS and newer, Google Pixel 3 and newer, Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, and most recent Huawei, Xiaomi and Oppo flagships. The phone must be carrier-unlocked. The app runs a check on your phone before you can buy.
When does my plan start?
When the eSIM first connects to a network in the destination country — not when you buy it. Install it at home and it waits until you land.
Can I keep my own number?
Yes. Your physical SIM stays in the phone for calls and texts; the eSIM only handles mobile data. You can switch data between the two at any time in your phone's settings.
Can I share the data with my laptop?
Yes, hotspot and tethering work on all plans.
What if it doesn't work?
Write to us in the app chat or at support@telovigo.com. If the eSIM cannot be activated on a compatible, unlocked phone, we refund the plan. Details in our refund policy.
